Advantages of In-house Trainers

Randy can train a cadre of trainers for schools or districts which is not only very cost effective, it gives the school or district much more flexibility for scheduling and providing professional development. With a cadre of trainers on site, professional development can be in increments during after school meetings, during conference periods, during early release days and so on, without having to bring a trainer in.

If a District gets staff from multiple schools coached to become Trainers the flexibility increases even more. Trainers may or may not want to present to their own staffs. This way, different combinations of trainers can be put together so that each group has someone from the school, and some of the presenters that are from other schools. This can also help ensure that all schools are getting the same messages during the trainings.

The coaching for Trainers will include all of the Power Points, Handouts and other materials Randy uses during his presentations. Participants will also learn strategies and activities to demonstrate how to be effective presenters. The coaching will show how to make workshops and presentations very practical while also being very motivating!

Topics for Trainers

Freshman Academy and Teaming for Middle Schools Workshops

Trainers will learn how to lead workshops for Teams and Academies. They will learn how to present the fifteen essential elements of successful Teams and Academies. Participants will be shown how to present the effective strategies for Teams and Academies in ways that are easy to use and motivating. They will learn how to use The Teaming Assessment and other tools to assist teams.

Differentiated Leadership- Seminars for Middle Level and High School Leadership Teams

Trainers will learn how to lead workshops for Middle and High School Leadership Teams. Participants will learn how to use the information and materials in the book "Differentiated Leadership- -Leadership for the Whole School" and the fold-out quick reference guide that goes with the book. Randy will demonstrate how Trainers can demonstrate practical and brain-based strategies for school leaders. This training puts the focus on training Leadership Teams as opposed to individual leaders.

Trainer Workshops

To coach Trainers to be able to run their own workshops and seminars takes more time than to just run the various workshops. For each of the topics listed above, I would need at least four days with the trainers. Five days would be optimal, and provide time for more practice and feedback.
